Music Major For a Day
The SUNY New Paltz Department of Music invites you to come join us for our “Music Major for a Day” Open House on Thursday, November 9, 2023. If you are considering studying music at SUNY New Paltz, come experience our program first hand.
The event is free to all high school juniors and seniors, and transfer students.
As a “Music Major for a Day,” you will:
- Take part in music classes alongside SUNY New Paltz music students
- Meet the music faculty
- Learn about auditions, degree paths, admissions, and financial aid.
- Make music with current SUNY New Paltz music students
Tentative Schedule
- 10:00 a.m. Check-in & Welcome
- 10:15 a.m. Music Therapy Class
- 11:00 a.m. Conducting Class
- 12:00 p.m. Lunch with Music Majors (provided by the Department of Music)
- 12:30 p.m. Composition and Sound Exploration Class
- 1:30 p.m. Admissions, Financial Aid, and Campus Tour
- 2:00 p.m. Event end
