SUNY New Paltz moved up to No. 6 on the list of the best public universities in the Northeast and placed on lists for best value, social mobility and best colleges for veterans in the 2025 edition of U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges Rankings.
Written by Caridad Svich, “Town Hall” tackles a slew of relevant, urgent questions about our relationship to our environment, to other humans, and to democracy. It focuses on a group of people living in the near future, in a world different from but very similar to ours. The Department of Theatre Arts’ interpretation of the play revolves around themes of student activism and community, and explores global challenges including climate change, poverty, and inequality.
On Tuesday, Aug. 27, hundreds of students from the incoming class processed down Excelsior Concourse – led by the Saints of Swing brass marching band, and cheered on by faculty and staff – for a ceremony on Old Main Quad and a get-to-know-you BBQ on a beautiful late-summer day.
