School of Business

  • The School of Business faculty-student ratio of 15:1 results in small class sizes (36 students for undergraduate and 25 for MBA), providing opportunities for individualized attention and direct interaction between students and professors.
  • The School achieved AACSB Accreditation in 2013, a hallmark of excellence in business education shared by less than 5 percent of business schools worldwide. AACSB-accredited schools produce highly skilled graduates who are more desirable to employers than those of non-accredited schools.
  • Opportunities for co-curricular activities and student organizations abound for business students interested in gaining real-world experience and learning hands-on skills. For example, the American Marketing Association conducts research for local businesses, and students prepare income tax returns through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program.
  • On-campus events help students build career networks, including an Internship/Career Fair each semester, the Accounting and Finance Symposium, guest speakers, and workshops. Students complete internships in the Hudson Valley, New York City, and beyond, with recent locations including KPMG, Pricewaterhouse Coopers, JP Morgan Chase, Estee Lauder, and Novartis.
  • Many School of Business alumni go on to serve in various high-level careers, such as financial advising, investment management, and executive banking positions.
  • The School’s 4+1 option for MBA allows students to complete a bachelor’s degree in four years and a master’s degree in one year, with students starting graduate courses in their senior year.
