- The Purchasing Department saves the College thousands of dollars annually through competitive bidding/quoting, price checks, and due diligence in holding vendors to their terms.
- The department has made a concentrated effort to forge partnerships with New York State-certified Minority/Woman-owned Business Enterprises (MWBEs), resulting in significant increases in business done with such companies and generally streamlining administrative procedures. For example, photocopier purchases are made through just two companies, both of which are New York State-certified MWBEs.
- Audits from outside entities have always been very positive, and serve as independent, objective validations that department employees are doing things right.
- In 2013, Director David Farbaniec facilitated the purchase of a house and 3.6-acre piece of property across the street from the campus, increasing the campus’ total acreage.
