Duties: The State University of New York (SUNY) at New Paltz is seeking a half-time (18.75 hours a week), 12-month Clinic Director to develop and direct a counseling training clinic associated with the Counselor Education Department. The clinic, to be developed, will begin as a telemental health clinic aimed at serving chronically underserved clients (e.g., rural, economically disadvantaged, Hispanic/Latinx). Candidates who bring a range of cultural experience and who are especially qualified to mentor and supervise all members of our diverse student population are especially encouraged to apply. This position will start August 2024. Specific tasks for this position include but are not limited to:

• Overall development and direction of a telemental health training clinic, from the ground up
• Work with local mental health agencies for client recruitment
• Select and order all necessary HIPAA-compliant software
• Responsible for grant writing and financial development of the clinic
• Supervising/monitoring all students in practicum and internship seminars
• Program, Departmental, University-Wide and Professional Service

Qualifications: Required:
• Master's degree or doctoral degree in a counseling-related field (e.g., Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, Social Work)
• Licensure to provide counseling (e.g., LMHC, LCSW, Licensed Psychologist) in any state and, if not in NY, the ability to become licensed in NY without the need to accrue additional hours
• Demonstrated awareness/knowledge of racial inequalities and challenges faced by historically underrepresented and economically disadvantaged groups
• Demonstrated commitment to social justice advocacy
• The ability to work effectively and collegially with students, staff, and faculty, and a community who are from intersecting marginalized social groups. References will be asked to comment on this as part of the interview process

Preferred:
• Experience as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor
• Demonstrated professional identity as a counselor with clear affiliations to relevant counseling associations (e.g., ACA/ACES)
• Knowledge of underserved populations and relevant social justice issues (e.g., immigration/acculturation, identity, colorism, intersectionality, etc.)
• Fluency in Spanish
• Graduate from a CACREP accredited program
