The Institute for Disaster Mental Health (IDMH) welcomes applications for a NYS Disaster Mental Health Trainer. The successful candidate will deliver 3-4 pre-established trainings per month to employees in various county agencies and mobile crisis organizations across New York State. Trainings will consist of Psychological First Aid and Disaster Mental Health trainings, Disaster Mental Health Train the Trainer trainings, and Mobile Crises trainings. Travel is required across New York State to deliver training content to all counties.

Other responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
• Communicate back to Project Staff about the mental health needs of those being trained
• Participate in Live Training Exercise in support of the Office of Mental Health Rapid Response Team at the State Preparedness and Training Center
• Engage in content development and building of training curriculum with IDMH staff

Qualifications: Required:
• Masters in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or other mental health related field
• Experience delivering trainings and/or lectures to large audiences and fielding audience questions
• Ability to travel for 2 weeks per month

Preferred:
• Trained in Psychological First Aid and Disaster Mental Health curriculum
• Knowledge of the impact of critical incidents on individuals, groups, and systems
• Ability to tailor training content to various types of audiences
