Duties: The Department of Communication Disorders at the State University of New York at New Paltz invites applications for a 10-month tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning in Fall of 2024. The primary responsibility is the teaching of graduate and undergraduate courses in communication disorders, and a commitment to quality teaching that integrates clinical and classroom experiences and focuses on evidence-based practice is a priority. Other responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

• Conduct a student-centered research program
• Advise undergraduate and/or master’s students
• Participate in departmental and university service

We welcome applicants from groups that have been traditionally underrepresented in the field of communication disorders and on college campuses, especially scholars who are committed to diversity and inclusion in their scholarship and teaching and who are invested in doing this work collaboratively with our faculty.

Qualifications: Required:
• Doctorate in speech-language pathology, speech and hearing sciences, or related area
• Strong ABD candidates with a firm completion date will be considered

Preferred:
• Area of specialization is open, but expertise in neurogenic communication disorders and/or swallowing disorders is preferred
• ASHA certification in speech-language pathology and eligibility for NYS licensure in SLP
• Bilingual therapy experience and/or research interests
