Duties: The Mid-Hudson Migrant Education Tutorial and Support Services Program (METS) supports the educational needs of migrant eligible youth in counties of the Mid-Hudson region of NY State. The program provides school year and summer supplemental academic instruction, advocacy, and support services in coordination with families, schools, community agencies and the NYS-Migrant Education Program. This is accomplished in partnership with migrant parents, youth, schools and community members.

The successful candidate will, with input from staff and parents, plan, implement and oversee program services. The Director will be responsible for the operational and fiscal management of the program. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating staff
• Preparing program narrative and budget applications
• Managing the budget, overseeing data management, submitting required reports, attending state Migrant Education Consortium and Director meetings
• Liaising with SUNY New Paltz School of Education and other Departments

Qualifications: Required:
• Baccalaureate degree
• Experience in the administration, supervision, and coordination of social, educational and community services in a public or private agency
• Knowledge and experience with pre-school through adolescence educational programing
• Commitment to diversity, equity and an inclusive working and learning environment
• Competence in the use and interpretation of data

Preferred:
• Master’s degree in education or administration fields
• Bilingual Spanish/English speaker
• Experience in grant writing and budget development
