Duties: SUNY New Paltz, the leading comprehensive public university in the Mid-Hudson Valley, seeks candidates for the position of Assistant Vice President of Administration/Controller in the division of Administration & Finance. Duties for this position include but are not limited to:

• Maintaining the day-to-day/long term financial operation of the institution including cash management for operating, IFR, DIFR, SUTRA and capital funds of the campus
• Responsible for the administration and completion of the annual Tax Diagnostic Questionnaire, Sole Custody Reporting and CFRP reports for the campus.
• Developing and recommending to the Vice President for Administration and Finance internal administrative policies and procedures
• Coordinate the implementation and maintenance of a system of internal controls
• Monitor all campus accounts (all state appropriated funds) to ensure compliance with campus budgeting procedures
• Supervise the operations of Accounting Services, Purchasing, Internal Control and Facilities Contract Administration
• Assist the Assistant Vice President for Budget and Vice President for Administration and Finance with the development of the campus all-funds budgets
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all those involved in SUNY’s cash management process through participation in professional activities and associations for the benefit of the institution
• Develop and recommend methodology and improvement to SUNY-wide accounting, personnel and capital project systems as well as work to implement enhancements to these systems via SUNY System Administration
• As assigned by the Vice President, maintain a sound understanding of campus priorities in conjunction with managing internal and capital projects through to completion
• Responsible for maintaining division-wide assessment records and motivating/supporting division in its assessment efforts
• Liaise with SUNY Legal Counsel as warranted
• Provide leadership, administrative direction, operating policy, and coordination for the Director of Business Affairs, Director of Purchasing, Internal Control Coordinator and Facilities Contract Administrator
• Perform any and all other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Administration and Finance or at the request of the College Cabinet

Qualifications: Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
• 7-10 years of experience in finance-related field
• Proficiency in excel
• Demonstrated knowledge/experience with procurement, payment and internal control processes

Preferred:
• MBA or master’s degree in related field
• Experience in Higher Education
