Asian American Studies Minor

Asian American Studies Minor- 15 credits 

The minor provides students with the opportunity to study Asian American history, culture, and society from the perspective of different disciplines, including history, literature, sociology, cultural geography, and media studies. 

•    Students minoring in Asian American Studies must receive no less than C- in any course used to satisfy the minor requirements.
•    Up to 7 credits in the minor may overlap with those in another minor or major plan.
•    Minimum 8 credits must be completed at SUNY New Paltz.

Elective courses on Asian Americans............................12 credits 

Four courses on the Asian American literature, culture, history, and society from at least two different disciplines. One of the four elective courses can be substituted with an intermediate-level Japanese or Chinese course (JPN/CHI 201 or 202).
