SUNY Uniform Sanctions for COVID 19

The SUNY Chancellor has announced new SUNY-wide required student conduct sanctions effective October 1, 2020 that are associated with specific COVID-19 violations. SUNY New Paltz is required to implement these sanctions. The sanctions will be applied to students who violate the Code of Student Conduct, related to Failure to Comply, Disorderly Conduct and/or Violation of Local, State and/or Federal Law. The Code of Student Conduct applies to behavior on- and off-campus. Students are required to read the full policy here.

Our Mission

The Office of Student Conduct is dedicated to educating SUNY New Paltz students about the conduct process and community standards while ensuring due process and fundamental fairness to all students, organizations and the university community.  Through our processes we hope to support both the individual student and the SUNY New Paltz Community as a whole.

Students who participate in the conduct process will:

  • Report a clearer understanding of policies, along with their rights and responsibilities
  • Identify resources that can aid them throughout the conduct process
  • Report our conduct process as fair
  • Understand how their choices can impact the others, the campus and local community
