Dion Baccus '92

Dion Baccus ’92 is an experienced business professional concentrating in finance, project management and business analysis.  Born and raised in Harlem, NY, Mr. Baccus Board 2022attended N.Y.C. public schools before matriculating at SUNY New Paltz in the fall of 1987 as a Business major and Black Studies minor.  Once there, he fully immersed himself in campus life and filled many roles in his undergraduate years. After graduating from SUNY New Paltz in 1992, he joined J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. in their incentive plan management unit. In 2001, while still working full time at J.P. Morgan Chase, he earned his MBA in Finance from Long Island University. He also helped recruit other minorities to the bank by serving on various HBCU recruiting teams and received many awards from his colleagues. After leaving J.P. Morgan Chase in 2006, Mr. Baccus moved to the Washington, D.C. area where he began working as a government contractor specializing in business analyst and project management for various government agencies.  He currently works for NTT Data Federal, an international organization focusing on IT and business services, in the government consulting unit.

Mr. Baccus currently resides in Upper Marlboro, Maryland with his wife, Renee Padmore-Baccus ’91, whom he met at SUNY New Paltz while they both were students. He spends his free time giving back to community by mentoring kids, volunteering, and helping raise funds for worthy causes through his fraternal organization. In 2020, the College honored the couple as Heritage Award recipients; an honor only given to those whose devotion to the ideals of the College serve as extraordinary examples to the entire New Paltz community. Additionally, Mrs. Baccus has served as a member of the Alumni Council since 2015.
