Hi! My name is Adam(he/his). I am a senior here at New Paltz, and I am double majoring in Geography with a concentration in Urban Planning as well as History. This is my second year at the Center for Student Success, and I will be working as a Peer Writing Consultant. Writing is a passion of mine, and one of the reasons I joined the Center was the vision that I could spark that passion in someone else as well. Writing is truly an all-encompassing discipline that is useful in all walks of life, from college and beyond. When I'm not working or in class, I like to ride my bike along the Rail Trail and catch all of the movies New Paltz Cinema has to offer. I am looking forward to working with everyone!




Hi! My name is Alyssa (she/her/hers) and I’m a senior majoring in Adolescent Education with a concentration in English, a minor in Creative Writing, and a member of the Honors Program at New Paltz! I chose to join the Writers’ Studio to share my passion for writing and helping others. As a future educator, I take pride in helping students strengthen their writing abilities so that they can succeed in any field of work they choose to enter. For me, writing has always been a form of self-expression, helping others speak their mind in unique ways. I look forward to meeting everyone and working alongside all the different writers at New Paltz! :)



Hi everyone! My name is Brina (she/her) and I am a junior history major, with a minor in creative writing. I joined the Writer's Studio because I think words are important. If used thoughtfully, our words can hold so much power, and I'm excited to help you harness that power. Academically, I am interested in Jewish diaspora, Soviet emigration, and multilingual writers. Outside of class, I love reading novels about emotionally distressed women, Shabbat dinners, and going on baby hikes with my friends. I look forward to meeting you!



Hi there! My name is Evie (she/her/hers) and I am a sophomore majoring in Adolescent English Education. I am so excited to be starting as a peer writing consultant this fall! During my free time, I’m usually hanging out with friends, reading, or watching Netflix. I’ve always loved writing essays, along with helping friends improve their writing process and expand upon their style. I’m eager to bring out my peers’ confidence, which I believe is the key to a good paper! I’m really looking forward to learning from my peers. I hope to share my passion of writing with you all, and can’t wait to meet everyone!

My name is Emily (she/her/hers) and I am a senior majoring in Early Childhood & Childhood Education with a concentration in History, a minor in Psychology, and a member of the Honors Program here at SUNY New Paltz! Thanks to this wonderful opportunity getting to work at the CSS as a Peer Writing Consultant, I hope to be able to be a resource for my peers. I love to write and being able to help others create and build an appreciation and passion for writing is something I am really looking forward to. Hi! My name is Faiza (she/her/hers) and I am a senior majoring in International Relations. I have always had a passion for writing and truly believe that words have the ability to connect people in extraordinary ways. I joined the Writers’ Studio because of my love for English and for the opportunity to interact with more of my peers. I love to read and engage in genuine conversations with people. One of my long term goals is to work for the United Nations because of my passion for collaborating and working with different kinds of individuals. Hi New Paltz! My name is Joñi (she/her/hers) I’m a junior Theater Design/Technology major from Brooklyn, minoring in film studies and studio art! I love storytelling and art in all its many forms, whether it be a play or a painting. I aspire to work in entertainment telling stories that matter through my visual designs. In my free time, catch me cozying up to a movie or backstage in Mckenna Theater. I joined the Writer’s Studio because I love reading other student’s work and want to help my peers come up with creative solutions to write the best work they can! Excited to meet you all!



Hello! My name is Kailas and my pronouns are she/they! I am a junior at SUNY New Paltz with a double major in International Relations and Asian Studies, as well as a member of the Honors Program. I will be working as a Peer Writing Consultant at the CSS for this semester due to my love of writing as a medium for anything you want it to be. I believe that writing is one of the greatest methods of communication, as it can bridge nearly every divide and is a pertinent tool you can use in college and beyond! In my spare time, you can catch me studying in Wooster or reading in warm, sunny places! I am always up to showing others pictures of my cat, and I look forward to seeing you at the CSS!



Hello! My name is Kerri (she/her/hers). I am a senior majoring in Journalism with a minor in Creative Writing. I chose to become a Peer Writing Consultant because I wanted to share my love of writing with others. Writing is a wonderful form of self-expression and having strong writing skills can benefit students far beyond the classroom. I hope that I can help other students grow more confident in their writing abilities and develop their own unique voice in their work. When I’m not in class or working, I love to read, bake, listen to music, and explore the beautiful Hudson Valley with my friends. I look forward to working and learning with all of you!

My name is Lauren (she/her/hers) and I’m a senior majoring in Digital Media Production and Journalism with a minor in Italian Studies. ​I chose to become a Peer Writing Consultant to share my passion for writing, while encouraging individuality and self-expression amongst students. Writing for me has always been the most empowering expression of self, and I cannot wait to learn from the unique voices of those who I work with. I am a Peer Writing Consultant and decided to join the CSS to help my fellow students and to share my love for language. I look forward to another great year at the center and seeing new faces :).

I am excited to work at the Center for Student Success as a Peer Writing Consultant this year! I have always loved to express myself through writing, whether that be through fictional stories or argumentative essays assigned in class. I aspire to utilize the skills I have acquired throughout the years to assist you with your own writing journey! I joined the CSS as a Writing Consultant because I truly enjoy the power that words have. Written or spoken, in English or Sign Language, words carry a huge weight in our everyday lives and can change our perception of the world, as well as, change the world’s perception of us. I spend most of my free time reading, writing, making music or playing video games. I aspire to be a Music Therapist, and hope to use my voice and words to increase people’s quality of life. I am one of those people that enjoys helping others and I look forward to helping and growing with you!
