SUNY New Paltz offers two LGBTQ+ listervs: One for LGBTQ+ allies and one for LGBTQ+ employees. These listservs were established to facilitate communication and event organization amongst the LGBTQ+ community.
What is a listserv?
A listserv is an electronic mailing list that distributes e-mails to all subscribers. Participants can both receive and send out messages to other listserv subscribers.
Subscribing isn't completely anonymous. The listserv moderator and the Office of Computer Services has access to the list of subscribers.
LGBTQ+ Allies Listserv
Serves as a space where LGBTQ+ identified faculty, staff, students, and their allies can share information, promote LGBTQ+ events, and communicate.
Those on the listserv have taken an LGBTQ+ workshop and have demonstrated a desire to intentionally support the LGBTQ+ community on campus. To sign up for the listserv, attend one of our LGBTQ+ Allies workshops.
LGBTQ+ Employee Listserv
Similar to our student listserv, our employee listserv is designed for LGBTQ+ faculty and staff to facilitate communication, share information, and promote related events.
