SUNY New Paltz offers two LGBTQ+ listervs: One for students and one for employees. These listservs were established to facilitate communication and event organization amongst the LGBTQ+ community.
What is a listserv?
A listserv is an electronic mailing list that distributes e-mails to all subscribers. Participants can both receive and send out messages to other listserv subscribers.
Subscribing isn't completely anonymous. The listserv moderator and the Office of Computer Services has access to the list of subscribers.
LGBTQ+ Student Listserv
The LGBTQ+ Student Listerv was established to provide a space for LGBTQ+ students and their allies to communicate and share information on various events happening on campus.
Like any listserv on campus, subscribing isn't completely anonymous. When students send out a post, their name and email will appear. If students do want to send out something anonymously, they can send it to email@example.com to be sent out on their behalf. This listserv is fully moderated.
Students can subscribe (from their Office 365 acount only) by emailing: firstname.lastname@example.org

LGBTQ+ Employee Listserv
Similar to our student listserv, our employee listserv is designed for LGBTQ+ faculty and staff to facilitate communication, share information, and promote related events.
