Duties: Student Health Service at SUNY New Paltz invites applications for a College Physician to join our dedicated team. Position Overview
The College Physician delivers primary medical care to enrolled students, addressing a wide range of health concerns commonly seen in a college setting. These include, but are not limited to:
• Respiratory infections
• Gastrointestinal illnesses
• Skin conditions
• Urinary tract infections
• Vaginitis and STIs
• Injuries
• Stress-related conditions
• Chronic illnesses not managed by outside providers
Familiarity with conditions prevalent among young adults is essential. Over time, you’ll develop deep expertise in managing these issues in a supportive, educational, and engaging environment.
Responsibilities of the Role Include (but are not limited to):
• Eliciting and documenting medical histories
• Performing pertinent physical examinations, developing treatment plans, and prescribing medications
• Conducting diagnostic evaluations and workups
• Monitoring students’ progress and recovery
• Communicating treatment and care plans clearly to students and, when appropriate, their family members
• Collaborating effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Participating in campus outreach activities to educate students on a variety of health-related topics

Qualifications: Required:
• Medical Degree MD or DO
• Current NYS registration
• Board Certification or Board Eligible
