Yura Yokoyama (Anthropology major, class of '18) received a grant from the National Science Foundation called the Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU). This is a supplement grant connected to Ben Junge's ongoing research project in Brazil.


Amy Reinhardt (Anthropology Major, Class of '20) won the H. Russell Bernard Paper Prize at the recent Society for Anthropology Sciences meeting for her paper entitled "Cultural Models of Romantic Love and Polyamory"


Yura Yokoyama (Anthropology major, class of '18) received a prestigious "Brazil Initiation Scholarship" from the Brazilian Studies Association (BRASA) to conduct a month-long study of Japanese-Brazilians in the town of Ivoti (Rio Grande do Sul) in order to understand the effects of Brazil’s current political and economic crisis on ethnic subjectivity among ordinary citizens and recognized leaders from this community. He’ll do this research in June and July of this year, after graduation.
