What happens to the degree application?
Records and Registration reviews degree applicants’ records and sends out any deficiencies via email to students. To avoid graduation deficiencies and possible semester change for degree conferral, students should do the following:
- Undergraduates – Review progress reports. These should show that all program and degree requirements will be met by the end of this semester. If not or if you are unsure, contact your advisor to have your progress report reviewed and possibly corrected.
- Graduate Students – Meet with your advisor and be sure your plan of study is up-to-date. Make any corrections to the plan which is filed in the Office of Graduate and Extended Learning. If your degree requires workshops, special exams or thesis, confirm with your advisor that these are noted in your student records and completed in time for degree conferral.
Students who file for May graduation will be invited to that May's commencement ceremony.
Students who file for August graduation by the end of February will be invited to participate in that year's May commencement ceremony.
Students who file for August graduation after February will be invited to the following year's commencement ceremony, in May.
Students who file for December graduation will be invited to the following year's commencement ceremony, in May.
