First-Year Internship Program

First-year students (non-transfers) have the opportunity to gain valuable professional experience with SUNY alumni in a variety of on-campus departments during the spring semester of their first year. Each one offers a substantive project with explicit learning and skill-development goals along with guidance and support from a dedicated staff or faculty member on campus.

Requirements/Prerequisites: Full-time, matriculated, undergraduate students in their first year of college (non-transfer). A written application and interview are required.
Compensation: None (Volunteer Experience)
Application Timeline: Applications available each October and are due on October 31.

Social Media Internship

Perfect for a current student who has experience managing social media accounts, extensive knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat, great editing skills, and a creative vision. You can manage the Instagram and Facebook accounts for the CRC!

Requirements/Prerequisites: Open to all students.
Compensation: None. (Internship)

Career Advising Internship

Under the supervision of the Career Resource Center staff, the intern will assist students with developing first drafts of resumes and cover letters, conduct practice mock interviews, help student with the job/internship search, assist in marketing CRC services, and present or co-present career related workshops.

Requirements/Prerequisites: Open to all majors and class years. Candidate must have successfully completed their first semester at New Paltz by Spring semester.
Compensation: One semester unpaid training (3 hours per week) After completion of training, opportunity for paid internship and/or academic credit, if eligible
