Duties: Seeking candidates interested in teaching three hour General and/or Organic Chemistry laboratory sections in the Chemistry Department at SUNY New Paltz. Instructors for daytime labs may be needed for both courses, evening lab sections may also be available for General Chemistry. All lab sections for either General Chemistry or Organic Chemistry follow the same curriculum outlined by a full-time laboratory instructor within the Chemistry Department. The duties for both General and Organic Chemistry labs include grading reports, supervising a 3-hour lab period, and providing 45 minutes of office hours to students each week.
Qualifications: Candidates for instructor positions in General Chemistry labs must have a bachelor’s degree in chemistry although Master’s degrees are preferable. The Organic Chemistry position requires a PhD in chemistry.
