How to Give

Founded in 1976, the SUNY New Paltz Foundation, Inc. is a separate 501(c)3 that works to enrich the quality of academic life at SUNY New Paltz by raising private contributions. Gifts to the Foundation—from alumni, parents, and friends of the College—enhance the teaching, learning, and discovery that takes place on campus. One hundred percent of donated funds are used for programs that benefit students.

To make a gift online using your MasterCard, Visa, Discover or American Express, please fill out our secure online giving form, below. All information is encrypted to protect your confidentiality. Your gift will be processed on the day that it is made.

Matching Gifts 

Many companies match charitable gifts made by employees, their families, or retirees. Through a matching gift program, your gift to the SUNY New Paltz Foundation could be matched, doubled, or even tripled, depending on your employer’s giving program. Securities may be transferred or reassigned to the SUNY New Paltz Foundation, Inc.

To make a gift of securities, please complete the Securities Transfer Donation Form and contact the Foundation’s business office at 845-257-3232 to notify them of the transfer.

Securities not held on paper can be transferred to the SUNY New Paltz Foundation’s account with Manufacturers & Traders Trust Company.

To make a gift, please contact your IRA custodian and obtain directions for how to make a Qualified Charitable Distribution directly to the SUNY New Paltz Foundation.

Gifts in Kind

Gifts of artwork, equipment, and other valuable property may enrich the learning environment or support essential operations at SUNY New Paltz. In-kind gifts could include artwork, libraries, real estate, as well as other categories.

Payroll Deduction

New York State employees may give to the SUNY New Paltz Foundation by setting up a payroll deduction. Please contact the Foundation's main office at 845-257-3240, and they will transfer you to our gift processing department. Or send us an email at donorsupport@newpaltz.edu.

If you do not work for New York State, your employer may participate in a payroll charitable deduction program. Please contact your employer’s payroll office for details.

 


 

Planned Gifts

It may be helpful from an estate, financial, and tax planning perspective to consider long-term gift planning. Planned giving can be accomplished through various gift instruments, such as charitable remainder trusts, gift annuities, charitable lead trusts, and bequests. Please contact Mary Rahe, development officer, at 845-257-2602 or email rahem@newpaltz.edu.

We’ve partnered with FreeWill to make planned giving simpler than ever. Using their free tool, you can create a legal will in 20 minutes or less at no personal cost.
