About Planned Giving

Planned Giving

SUNY New Paltz is grateful to members of the Tower Society, the many alumni and friends who have had the foresight to provide for the future of SUNY New Paltz through their estate plans or other planned gifts. These thoughtful and generous gifts, both large and small, help sustain the educational excellence that is SUNY New Paltz. Tower Society members benefit the University through their own gifts and by inspiring others.

Please find more information below: click on one of the links, find sample bequest language, or reach out to us directly to discuss your planning further.

Sample Bequest Language

Gifts given through wills are known as bequests. Bequests are the most common and simplest way of making a deferred gift. To make a bequest, simply add the following language to your will:

"I hereby give, devise and bequeath [written $-amount or percentage of the estate or description of property] to SUNY New Paltz Foundation, a nonprofit organization located at 1 Hawk Drive, New Paltz, NY, 12561, Federal Tax ID #22-2141645, for SUNY New Paltz Foundation's general use and purpose."

For more specific bequest language (such as a percentage, residual, or contingent bequest), find more sample language here.
