Division of Academic Affairs: Mission Statement

As the division of the College that encompasses all of SUNY New Paltz's academic programs, as well as a variety of other units that support and extend the student learning experience, you might say that we are the cornerstone of the institution. The Division of Academic Affairs is composed of six academic divisions (the Schools of Business, Education, Fine & Performing Arts, and Science & Engineering; the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences; and Graduate & Extended Learning) housing 105 undergraduate programs and 50 graduate programs. Also included are the Sojourner Truth Library, Strategic Planning & Assessment, Center for International Programs, Honors Program, Office of Sponsored Programs, Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art, and the Faculty Development Center.

The Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs serves as the College's chief academic officer and represents the academic arena in internal and external areas. The Provost is a member of the President's Cabinet and works closely with the academic deans to maintain the history of excellence at SUNY New Paltz and move the institution toward the goals of the strategic plan.

The Division of Academic Affairs is fully dedicated to providing a responsive high-quality experience that serves our students well now and into their futures. As part of New Paltz's diverse and dynamic community of faculty, staff, and students, we are committed to supporting an engaging atmosphere for living and learning.
