Academics: Curriculum

Course offerings in the Graphic Design program range from the historically based to the technologically advanced. Visual communication is explored through the study of communication theory and contemporary practice and is enacted through making.

Particular emphasis is placed on the idea that design reflects and affects culture. Small class sizes, generally between fifteen to twenty-two students, promote close interaction with other students and faculty. Graduates go on to successful careers in many areas of design, including design for the Web, interactive design, and print publishing.

Students intending to become design professionals are strongly encouraged to pursue the BFA with Emphasis in Graphic Design.
