26 August 2019: College hires new Emergency Preparedness Specialist, Matthew Alfultis.

Please join me in welcoming Matthew Alfultis to the Office of Emergency Management and the New Paltz campus community. Matt comes to us as an alumni of SUNY New Paltz, graduating in 2017 with a BA in Sociology focusing in Criminology and minors in Disaster Studies and Spanish. Matt is currently enrolled at SUNY Albany in the College of Emergency Preparedness & Homeland Security pursuing an advanced certificate in Emergency Preparedness. Before joining the Office of Emergency Management, Matt worked as a Disaster Assistance Representative with the New York State Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Services, in the Recovery Division. During his time there, he coordinated recovery projects throughout the State on behalf of the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Outside of work, Matt volunteers his time as a firefighter and EMT with his local fire department. Matt enjoys cycling and is looking forward to being able to hike the Catskills and Shawangunk Ridge again.
