III. INDIVIDUALIZED PROGRAM…..12 credits

As part of your Women’s Studies major, you will be taking 12 “Individualized Program” credits (with no more than 3 lower division credits.) This component of your major plan calls for you to design (in consultation with your adviser) a set of courses exploring an area of Women’s Studies scholarship and practice in depth. Your Individualized Program is designed using WOM or cross-listed courses. Courses satisfying the Individualized Program requirement are taken in addition to required Core and Cluster credits. The goal of the Individualized Program is that each major should be able to design a course of study that meets her/his interests and goals, and that Women’s Studies majors will come away with a depth of knowledge in one area of the broad discipline of Women’s Studies.

Here are some examples of possible Individualized Program plans.* For a given example, the courses listed are not necessarily the only ones that might be appropriate. Please also remember that you are encouraged to define and design the Individualized Program that most meets your needs and interests.
