Megan Braren graduated from Marist College with a bachelor's degree in elementary education; special education; psychology. She continued her education at SUNY New Paltz, where she obtained a master’s degree in humanistic multicultural education. Additionally, she has received a Certificate of Advanced Study (CAS) in educational leadership and administration for both the building and district levels. 

Braren has spent her career committed to the needs of students who do not have typical school or learning experiences. Her 17 years spent in the classroom as a special education teacher have given her a breadth of knowledge and experiences that contribute to building relationships with students, faculty, and parents as an administrator. Braren’s work has focused on addressing the disproportionate outcomes for marginalized students through data and systems analysis. She continues her dedication to this work by viewing educational leadership through the lenses of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
