Hiring Now: Ibis Group Endowed Professor

Reporting to the Dean of the School of Education, the Ibis Group Endowed Professor will be an experienced scholar and educator well-versed in the research-supported building blocks of effective reading instruction, with a passion for helping P-12 teachers and districts implement evidence-based tools and techniques into existing and emerging classroom practices.  

They will work to advance evidence-based practices in the Science of Reading instruction and the neurology of reading aligned with New York State’s Next Generation ELA Learning Standards, including by partnering with classroom teachers, literacy specialists, and school administrators in the Hudson Valley and New York City.  

Through these partnerships, the Endowed Professor will help create a network of Science of Reading literacy experts to advance New York State’s literacy initiatives through engaging in outreach and dissemination of best practice. 

This position will be supported by a graduate student, administrative assistant, and project coordinator. The Endowed Professor is to assume office by August 2024.
