About The Center for Student Media

The Center for Student Media is home to the 6 large-scale student run Student Association media organizations at SUNY New Paltz. Hawk Studios, WFNP Radio, The New Paltz Oracle Newspaper, The Fahari Libertad, The Music Collective, and The Teller Magazine. Each organization is run by an executive board and comprised of student members that are responsible for the day to day operation of each of the 6 areas. Community engagement, student growth and development and cross-campus collaboration are some of the primary goals of the Center for Student Media.

As members of the Campus Media Center, SUNY New Paltz students are able to get hands on experience within the various fields of media, while simultaneous contributing to the campus and local community. There are a variety of collaborative efforts between the Campus Media Center and academic departments, campus offices, student organizations and even local community members, all coming together to serve the needs of our campus and local community.

Our members also have the opportunity to network with industry professionals through internships, conference attendance and media organization affiliations.
