Join alumna Bethanne Weiss '87 (The Asset Queen) and retired faculty member Joe Owens (the legendary Coach "O") for this motivational talk. In Bethanne's new book, Move Your Assets: From the Chair, Not the Bank!, she explains how Coach "O" inspired her to leave behind her unfit lifestyle and become a fitness professional. After 30 years they will reunite to inspire you to become active and fit too. Introduction to 3D printing - Class. (This event is FULL)

Want to know what all this 3D printing talk is about? This class will serve as an introduction to the 3D printing processes with a focus on the FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) method of printing. You will get an overview of the various 3D print processes (FDM, SLA, SLS) and an in depth discussion of FDM, its strengths, and weaknesses. You will learn about the major file formats, where to locate files, and how to set up files in Makerbot Desktop for submission to the Innovation Center Array. (Registration required)

Hugo Munsterberg as Historian and Collector of World Art

Join faculty member Elizabeth Brotherton for a talk on Professor Hugo Munsterberg, who encompassed many traditions of world art into his broad view. This talk will reflect on his work as art historian and teacher, giving special welcome to any participants who were students in his classes.

Happy Hour with class years and affinity groups

Join classmates for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Happy hour receptions will be set up in multiple locations in the Student Union for affinity groups across decades to gather. This year we will have an All-Class happy hour and we will also feature the following:

  • Class of '66 and Class of '91
  • Student Leaders (RAs, OLs, SAMs, RHSA, Student Association, Student Ambassadors, and Welcome Center)
  • Athletes 
  • Greek Life - Hosted by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. (Omicron Kappa Chapter celebrating 35 years) and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. (Sigma Eta Chapter celebrating 25 years). All Greek Life organization members are encouraged to attend. 

Alumni are encouraged to visit more than one happy hour location. Cash bar will be available.

MAIN EVENT Lantern Ceremony and All-Class Dinner

Join us for an evening of traditions. We will celebrate the class of 1966 as they are inducted into the Lantern Society for their 50th anniversary year; honor our Heritage Award winners, whose devotion to the ideals of the College serve as extraordinary examples to the entire New Paltz Community; recognize our Alumni Award recipients, and toast the fifth to 65th anniversary class years to celebrate these milestones.

Join faculty members, Glenn Geher (Psychology), Alison Nash (Psychology), Peter Kaufman (Sociology), Jeff Miller (Political Science) and current students on a guided hike of Mohonk Preserve. Both moderate and easy trails will be available. Transportation from the campus will be provided.

Apple Picking

Enjoy the fall tradition of apple picking in New Paltz with fellow alumni. Visit the New Paltz table at Dressel Farms for some complimentary refreshments before heading out into the orchard for U-pick apple picking. Attendees will pay by the pound for apples picked.  Rain or shine event.
