Style Guide

Style Guide

The way we talk, dress and act creates an image of ourselves. Similarly, SUNY New Paltz, as an institution, creates an image in the way it "speaks," "dresses" and "acts."

SUNY New Paltz' speaking and dressing is done, in large part, through printed and visual communication products - they are Our Voice and form Our Image.

Our Voice, Our Image is a resource to help SUNY New Paltz create a consistent image that reflects the institution's mission and values. It contains five sections that address the full range of written and visual communication:

"Our Voice, Our Image" was written and compiled by a subcommittee of the former Institutional Image Group. While it is designed to serve as SUNY New Paltz' "authority" on the image issues it addresses, its creators view it as a work that will always be open for improvement. As such, the offices of Public Affairs and Publications will continue to update and enforce the content within these documents.
