Since its founding in 1976, the SUNY New Paltz Foundation has raised more than $20 million in gifts of cash, artwork and other goods to support SUNY New Paltz. The Foundations leadership includes volunteer alumni and friends who serve as Board members.
In the year ending June 30, 2006, the SUNY New Paltz Foundation raised $1.55 million from more than 5,000 donors giving to more than 130 funds supporting departments and programs across the campus including lecture series, visiting professors, library acquisitions, museum exhibitions, and more.
It also awards nearly 350 scholarships totaling more than $200,000 each year.
Endowment: $7.37 million
The endowment is a permanent investment, from which income earned is used to support programs and funds at New Paltz.
Artwork, paintings and antiques: $3.36 million
The Foundation holds gifts of art for the collection of the Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art.
