Note that many of the events are free, including the Reception for Geography Alumni!!

The Department of Geography will host a reception on Saturday morning, October 5, from 9-10:30 a.m. on the 3rd Floor of the Humanities Building. Come and meet other alumni, current and past faculty, as well as current students. Refreshments will be served!! View student projects and stop by for informal visits to the GIS/Computer Cartography Lab in Humanities 310, once simply known as "the Cart Lab." Those of you who remember the large drafting tables will not recognize the changes!! The room is even air-conditioned and there is a satellite room down the hall in Humanities 314.

From 10:45-11:45 a.m. on Saturday morning, as part of the Alumni Education program, Larry McGlinn,Assistant Professor of Geography at SUNY New Paltz, will introduce the Geographic Information Systems facility iin HUM 310 and will offer tips about using GIS in today's world. His presentation is titled "Where Are You and Why is This Important"  Professor McGlinn's presentation--and others in the Alumni Education program during the Alumni Reunion weekend--is open to all alumni of SUNY New Paltz so invite your friends.For  information about Larry McGlinn, visit his homepage http://www.newpaltz.edu/~mcglinnl/
