Scholarship Opportunities

The Cetrino Family/Rubin Benjamin Scholarship

The Cetrino Family/Rubin Benjamin Scholarship provides a year-long full tuition award and a paid internship for an outstanding junior or senior who is interested in a career in public service. An interested applicant must be a full-time student and may be in any academic major. Applicants should be entering their junior or senior year at SUNY New Paltz have a grade point average of at least 3.0, and be available to intern at the Benjamin Center for at least 10 hours per week during the academic year and at least half-time for the following summer. In addition to academic performance, financial need will be considered in making this award.

Interested students should apply through Scholarships Online which can be found on www.my.newpaltz.edu on the Students tab under Money.  A letter of interest, an unofficial transcript, and recommendations from two faculty members must be submitted to the site beginning in March. Interviews will be conducted before the close of the academic year.

The Christian Presidential Scholarship

Cetrino Family/Rubin Benjamin scholarship applicants are also eligible for the Christian Presidential Scholarship. The Benjamin Center and The Research, Scholarship & Creative Activities (RSCA) program identify one or two candidates each to recommend to the Provost for The Donald P. and Sandra K. Christian Presidential Scholarship.

Rising seniors in good standing with a grade point average of at least 3.1 are encouraged to apply. Awardees receive scholarship funding for one year. The recommended candidates will be current or upcoming participants in the RSCA or CRREO programs. The award will be announced prior to the end of the school year, allowing the student towork with his or her adviser during the summer months if desired, providing the student is registered for summer classes.
