How did you get interested in Electrical Engineering?

Going into college I actually wanted to be a math teacher. I’ve always loved math. I’ve always loved science and I thought that was the way to go and I’ve always wondered about engineering but I never really knew much about it but after researching it I realized that this is what I want to do. I felt like I could do more than just teach it.

What do you like about Electrical Engineering?

I feel like electrical engineering is like a puzzle and it’s almost addicting. I love doing my homework and I love going to class because it’s all just figuring out how to get something to work, how to make it simpler, how to make it easier. That’s what I really like about it.

Do you feel like doing engineering at SUNY New Paltz, a state school, is working out for you?

I feel like it would be better because you get the scene here. You get more one-on-one attention, the class sizes aren’t so big. I feel like at other state schools a lot of professors don’t even know your name but here they know my name, you build a relationship with your professors and it's nice.

Anything else you'd like to say?

I miss SUNY Orange but I’m so happy I came here because I was so lost and didn’t know where to go and my professor at SUNY Orange mentioned that a lot of their students are going to SUNY New Paltz for engineering and they love. So I went here and visited the campus and talked to Professor Gonzalez and knew that this is where I wanted to go.
