SUNY New Paltz is proud of the traditions it has created, and Alumni Reunion is one the entire campus looks forward to each year. This year's festivities will include a blend of cherished traditions and exciting new additions, catering to our diverse generations of alumni. All are invited to celebrate, reminisce, and reflect on their time and experiences at the University.

And don’t miss the chance to engage in a hands-on activity with Professor Keely Heuer's Honors seminar, where we’ll delve into the captivating themes of Textiles, Dress, and Identity in Ancient Greece and Italy.

50th Anniversary Lantern Society Induction Ceremony and Luncheon  
The Office of Alumni Relations invites members of the class of 1975 to celebrate their 50th Anniversary at the Lantern Society Induction Ceremony, a highlight of Alumni Reunion Weekend. This event is also open to alumni who graduated before 1975 and have not participated yet. 

Target audience: Graduates of the class of 1975, alumni who graduated prior to 1975 and who have not participated in the ceremony, and all alumni and their guests

We are hosting three dynamic panel discussions featuring graduates from Political Science & International Relations (PSIR), Languages, Literatures & Cultures (LLC), and Sociology. Get ready to hear firsthand accounts of how their time at the University shaped their careers and opened doors to unique professional paths. One highlight you won’t want to miss is our sociology panel, titled "Sociology Under the Knife: Lessons From New Paltz Resistance." In this workshop, participants will learn about physical computing intro and create an interactive experience that responds to the environment's input (like motion, sound, or image). Created by the SUNY New Paltz Foundation, the Walk of Honor consists of brick pavers engraved with a personal message surrounding the sculpture Large Hybrid, created by the late renowned artist Richard Hunt and given to New Paltz by The Dorsky Gallery Curatorial Programs in 2002.

The Distinguished Alumni Service Award recognizes alumni volunteers who have made exceptional contributions in support of the activities of the SUNY New Paltz Alumni Association. 

 

The Friends of the Alumni Association Award recognizes individuals (non-alumni) who have made exceptional contributions to alumni engagement in the University's life.
