Jamie Scherzer on Instagram
A new article published in Art Jewelry Forum cites work by a New Paltz Metal faculty member and alumna as examples of artists who are merging printmaking and jewelry making processes.
Assistant Professor Lynn Batchelder and her former student, Jamie Scherzer '20g (Studio Art), are integrating prints and plates into their work with metal. In Scherzer's "Call and Response," pictured above, we see the print (left) as well as the copper plate used for printing (right), subsequently transformed into an object of display.
Read more in "Intaglio by Jewelry Artists" in Art Jewelry Forum, and see more from Batchelder and Scherzer on Instagram @lynnbatch and @jamie_scherzer, respectively.
