SUNY press release: SUNY Campuses Move to Weekly COVID Testing of All Students, Faculty, and Staff for the Spring Semester
SUNY Chancellor Jim Malatras is becoming a familiar face at our COVID-19 testing site!
Chancellor Malatras was back in New Paltz yesterday, Jan. 25, to review operations ahead of the move to weekly testing of all members of our in-person population. He also took time to meet with campus leaders, emergency management personnel, and Student Association President Haley Hershenson ’21 (Early Childhood & Childhood Education).
"As we begin our spring semester, testing is a critical element of our comprehensive reopening plans, allowing our campuses to quickly respond as any cases arise in a targeted way," said Chancellor Malatras.
"Expanding our testing capacity so that all our in-person students, staff and faculty get tested weekly is our best chance of avoiding unknowingly passing on the virus to others, and we thank the Chancellor for his support of these efforts," said President Christian.
