Reopening FAQ of the day

Will dining plans be available to students during the fall 2020 semester?
Yes. New Paltz Dining Services has adopted new protocols to ensure that students can safely enjoy meals on campus, and will offer a single, comprehensive dining plan to students this year.
All food venues will operate as grab & go at the beginning of the fall 2020 semester. Indoor dining areas will be closed. Students will be provided with reusable container kits to obtain and safely pick up and carry out their meals.
The Seven” dining plan is designed to provide convenience, variety and safety at a tremendous value. For a charge of $2,400, the dining plan includes the following:
  • Seven grab & go meal swipes per week for meals at Peregrine Dining Hall or the Terrace
  • $1,100 of Dining Dollars, usable at all campus dining venues including Peregrine Dining Hall
  • Three guest meals per semester
The seven dining swipes replenish each Monday morning. Swipes do not roll over from week to week.
Additional Dining Dollars can be added to student accounts at any time in any installment of $25. Students can add Dining Dollars by visiting Card Services in Student Union room 64, or by visiting my.newpaltz.edu and finding my.CASaccount.
The College's fall 2020 reopening plan is highly detailed and dense, and our corresponding list of FAQs runs to more than 10,000 words (and counting!). In an effort to make this very important information more digestible for campus community members, we're highlighting questions and answers in this newsletter, one per day, as the fall semester approaches.
Please note: We are working to update and add FAQs as planning continues and this situation evolves. We will prioritize sharing the most current information in this space.

Spring 2020 Capstones and Theses

It was genuinely difficult to keep up with the staggering volume of galleries, exhibitions, original research and video presentations New Paltz students published at the end of the 2019-20 academic year. With just weeks to go until the fall semester, we're taking advantage of a few more opportunities to give this exceptional scholarship and creative work its due.
Today, long exposure, live music photograpy, from Gap in the Clouds, the Art Department's exhibition of senior capstones.

Gloria Rumble '20 (Visual Arts)
“Through processes of layering techniques, experimentation, and striking imagery, I use painting, photography, and metalwork to communicate 'in the moment' perceptions and expressions of empowerment. My photography is inspired by live music and its atmosphere. Long exposure of colorful lights and the movement in a moment are used to capture the energetic, and sometimes psychedelic, experience of the intimate pouring out of someone’s heart and soul.”
