Reopening FAQ of the day

What is the College doing to ensure remote-delivered classes still provide high-quality education and meet learning outcomes?
The Division of Academic Affairs and Information Technology Services have been working continuously with faculty through the spring and summer months to prepare for both online and seated modalities with content-specific webinars and other training opportunities, including through the Office of Instructional Technology. These sessions and other forms of support will continue into the fall semester.
We are also working to provide additional free training and resources for students to assist them with the transition to online learning.
The College's fall 2020 reopening plan is highly detailed and dense, and our corresponding list of FAQs runs to more than 10,000 words (and counting!). In an effort to make this very important information more digestible for campus community members, we're highlighting questions and answers in this newsletter, one per day, as the fall semester approaches.
Please note: We are working to update and add FAQs as planning continues and this situation evolves. We will prioritize sharing the most current information in this space.

From Our Community

Under normal circumstances it would be rude to stand on a host's dinner table, but for alumna Jayna Cowal '15 (Photography) it was all in a day's work in her role as photographer for the second edition of Tom Brady's TB12 book on diet, cooking, exercise and wellness. See more of Cowal's exceptional work @jaynacowal.

Spring 2020 Capstones and Theses

It was genuinely difficult to keep up with the staggering volume of galleries, exhibitions, original research and video presentations New Paltz students published at the end of the 2019-20 academic year. With just weeks to go until the fall semester, we're taking advantage of a few more opportunities to give this exceptional scholarship and creative work its due.
Today, a sustainable fashion movement from the Graphic Design BFA Thesis Show.

McKenna Wood '20 (Graphic Design)
"Nearly 20% of our global waste and 1.2 billion tons of CO2 equivalent per year are produced by the fast fashion industry. With current technologies, it would take 12 years to recycle what the fast fashion industry creates in just 48 hours. The Conscious Closet is a social media campaign designed to educate young adults on sustainable consumerism and how to practice conscious wardrobe choices. This movement brings attention to the awful realities of fast fashion as well as the solutions that sustainable fashion has to offer. Through social media, animated graphics, and infographics, the Conscious Closet’s goal is to help young adults mend a better future."
