Director for Research Strategy
Danielle V. Hemsley aka Danie’s curious nature, passionate fascination with human behavior, and love of numbers drew her to the world of human insights and research. Currently she is a Director or Research Strategy at Cassandra. However, she did not start her career in the advertising industry. Danie is a career changer. Prior to working in Strategic Consumer Insights, she spent 5 years in social work as a Case Manager for people in living with HIV/AIDS in the Hudson Valley, after graduating from SUNY New Paltz with a BA in Sociology in 2005. In 2010, life circumstances led her back to NYC and to graduate school at Baruch where she married her sociological background with business and statistics leading to her current career. She is passionate about both quantitative and qualitative research techniques and weaving a variety of data sources together to uncover actionable insights and bring the story to life for her clients.
In her free time she enjoys spending time with friends and family, travel, scenic train rides, Zumba & Buti Yoga, people watching, and interactive experiences (Escape the Room, NYC Pillow Fight, themed parties, Science Museums) - she even had a theatre experience wedding. During 2020 she has focused on cooking new dishes using her CSA veggies and testing out her camping skills (while she loves the outdoors, she realizes she is a city kid).
