I was persuaded to take on the role of a PASC because I was also a Peer Mentor for the EOP program my sophomore year where I enjoyed advising and mentoring my fellow mentee’s. Hey! My name is Sasha (she/her/hers) and I am a senior here at SUNY New Paltz, double majoring in Linguistics and Philosophy and minoring in Deaf Studies. I am also a member of the Honors Program, fitness instructor at the Athletic Wellness Center, avid backpacker, outdoor educator, adventurer, and your fellow student. I am currently a senior studying Psychology with a minor in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Hi, I’m Wendy (she/her)! I am currently a sophomore and I plan on majoring in Early Childhood Education with a concentration in Mathematics. My position at the CSS is a subject tutor for College Math (MAT120/121), Precalculus (MAT181), Mathematics for Elementary School Teachers 1 (MAT140), and Intro to Proof (MAT260). I have always had a great love for math ever since elementary school and I have enjoyed learning more and more since then. Precalculus is one of my favorite math courses and I cannot wait to help others learn about it. I also really enjoyed Mathematics for Elementary School Teachers 1 because I plan on becoming an elementary school teacher. I decided to apply to become a peer tutor because I love working with others and helping students learn something new as well as seeing others grasp a concept they did not fully understand before. This year, I am teaching Composition I and will be working at the Center for Student Success. I joined the CSS my freshman year of college because I love being an advocate for those around me.
