Brooke

Hi, I’m Brooke! I’m a third year student majoring in Early Childhood/Elementary Education with a concentration in Mathematics and a minor in Biology. I’m a member of TBA Improv and Alpha Phi Omega community service fraternity. I’m also a peer mentor for first year students. I’m so incredibly excited to be working at the Center for Student Success as a Peer Academic Success Coach because I have worked Orientation for the last two years and it has shown me how much I love helping other students succeed here at New Paltz! In my free time I love hanging out with pals, napping, and cracking jokes that are moderately funny!

Demetri

I am an English Major with a Creative Writing Minor, and finally a senior after a long and tumultuous college journey. When I’m not writing or drawing, I’m working on or reading material for Dungeons and Dragons. I hope one day I can work on it officially, but for now I’ll focus on my novel writing. I am also transgender and Jewish, and very involved in both communities. I am always happy to help, and look forward to offering whatever services you may need.

Emely is from the Dominican Republic and is a student here at SUNY New Paltz

Emely

Hey! My name is Emely, I am from the Dominican Republic and I am a student here at SUNY New Paltz. I am going into my Junior year with a major in Psychology and a double minor in Women Studies and Sociology. I am currently a Psychological Statistics subject tutor and also a PASC (peer academic success coach) member at the CSS. I was persuaded to take on the role of a PASC because I was also a Peer Mentor for the EOP program my sophomore year where I enjoyed advising and mentoring my fellow mentee’s. Throughout my college experience I have learned that time management, organizational, and studying skills are imperative and I am more than open to helping my peers master these qualities. I am looking forward to encouraging my peers to strive for the best and to remind them of their potential.

Hi my name is Guillaume and I’m a peer academic coach. I’m in my third year of studying mechanical engineering. I was born in France and grew up moving between there and the United States. During my free time I enjoy going on hikes with my friends and taking pictures. I hope you have a great semester!

Hillary, entering her junior year as a Biology major

Hillary

Hey! I’m Hillary, and I am going to be entering my junior year as a Biology major. I am incredibly excited to join the Peer Academic Success team this year. My goal as a PASC is to demonstrate that everyone can be successful given the appropriate encouragement and resources. Besides being a PASC, I am also a Subject Tutor at CSS. My hobbies include playing the piano and cooking. I am a super friendly person, so please do not hesitate to reach out. Hopefully I can give everyone some helpful advice and share some skills that I have learned along the way!

Maxine

Maxine

Hello everyone! My name is Maxine and I'm one of the Peer Academic Success Coaches at the Center for Student Success. I'm a junior majoring in Visual Arts Education with a concentration in photography. When I'm not working on campus, I work at the Hebrew school in town. I chose to become a PASC because I remember how hard it was for me to transition to a university setting when I was a Freshman. The resources available to me were a huge help, and I want to pay that forward and help others. If I'm not working, you can find me wrapped in a blanket watching Stranger Things or Black Mirror.

Sasha

Sasha

Hey, my name is Alexandra but you can call me Sasha. I’m a Sophomore, I am a Peer Mentor in the Honors Program here at New Paltz, I am contract majoring in Linguistics and minoring in Philosophy and Studio Art. I love all sorts of adventures: from backpacking, rock-climbing and spelunking in the Appalachian Mountains, to sailing a ketch through the North Atlantic Ocean, to working on a biodynamic farm in Costa Rica, to spontaneously moving to Germany for a year, to just walking to Tops supermarket with my friends at 3 o’clock in the morning for no reason at all. I like to live life to the fullest, my favorite food is sushi, my favorite color is orange, and I am super excited to be a Peer Academic Success Coach!
