Transfer Liaison Recruitment

Transfer Liaison Benefits and Opportunities:

  •  Help transfer students acclimate to campus
  • Build a sense of community within the transfer student population
  • Develop leadership skills through facilitating social and academic programs for transfer students
  • Gain experience working as part of a team
  • Work with the Center for Student Development Staff during transfer orientation and throughout the year on campus-wide initiatives.    
  • Networking with students and professionals on campus

 

Transfer Liaison Position Responsibilities:

  • Spring semester commitment (with the possibility to continue for future semesters under position re-approval)
  • Participate in Spring 2020 training
  • Attend staff meetings
  • Create and conduct programming activities for transfer students
  • Participate in January Welcome Back Week, Club and Involvement Fairs, and SUNY New Paltz Open House events
  • Assist with welcoming students at the January Transfer Orientations on January 7 & 9. (Participation for at least one of the transfer orientations in January is required, please indicate any conflicts you may have in the application section)
  • Other duties as they arise

 

To be eligible, candidates must:

  • Be a Matriculated Transfer Student at SUNY New Paltz
    Have a 2.75 cumulative GPA, and maintain a 2.75 GPA while holding the position. If you transferred to New Paltz in fall 2019, you can apply (even though you technically have a 0.00 GPA currently) and being hired for the position is contingent on your fall 2019 semester GPA meeting the 2.75 requirement.
  • Be in good disciplinary standing with the Division of Student Affairs. (Which means you cannot currently be serving a judicial sanction)
