ME Students Win Business Plan Contest
ME Students Win Business Plan Contest

Two Mechanical Engineering students, Kyle Morgan and Zach Torigian, along with fellow teammates Hamza Tanveer (Business Administration) and Daniela Cerqueira Lima Gomes de Souza (General Business), won $3,000 for The Nozzleman, a quick-release hose attachment to help fire fighters holding the nozzles.

In the Business Plan Contest, students work in teams to research, develop, and present quality business plans that are feasible, profitable, and novel.  It is a great opportunity to be involved in a real business project and gain experience that cannot be learned in the classroom. Students learn important skills they will need in their careers, such as teamwork, communication, leadership, and networking.

The Business Plan Contest is a course (BUS457 for undergraduates and BUS587 for MBA students) offered in the Spring. The presentations occur before a panel of judges for a chance to win a cash award. The ceremony was held at The College Terrace on May 2.
