“The enthusiasm and New Paltz pride were unmistakable. The entire experience was strengthened by the diverse representation and sense of nostalgia and homecoming.”

- Director of Alumni Relations Shana Circe ’02 (Art Education) ’08g (Visual Arts Education).

Reunion 2017 Walk of Honor

Walk of Honor

The Walk of Honor celebrates and pays tribute to the countless memories and accomplishments of alumni, faculty, staff, students, parents, and many others who have spent part of their lives at New Paltz. Each paver is engraved with a personal message. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Saturday, Oct. 14.

The bricks encircle the modern sculpture, Large Hybrid, created by renowned artist Richard Hunt and given to New Paltz by the Dorsky Gallery Curatorial Programs in 2002. At this initial celebration the College debuted 535 bricks. Each August we will install another group of bricks, based on donations received through January in that year.

Add your brick to the Walk of Honor.

“This Walk of Honor helps to inspire future generations of alumni. It’s important to create a legacy to honor all that New Paltz gave to us. Giving away scholarships is part of that legacy, but this is one way to do more.”

-Bruce Orenstein ’68 (Secondary Education), who inspired the Walk of Honor.
