Undergraduate Research

Posters on the Hill

This poster session is held on Capitol Hill each spring (typically in March or April). This event provides opportunities for undergraduate researchers to present their work and speak directly with their representatives. Posters on the Hill is a prestigious and competitive event. Applicants should begin preparing the application long before the deadline (typically early November).

The event includes field trips, advocacy training, Congressional visits to member offices, and a reception displaying the student posters.

"It is increasingly important that the undergraduate research community works to ensure that those in the U.S. Congress who provide funding for research and education have a clear understanding of the programs they fund and why these programs are important. Undergraduate research must be among those programs that members of Congress understand if it is to continue to be supported." http://www.cur.org/conferences_and_events/student_events/posters_on_the_hill_call_for_abstracts/

The RSCA program will fund any student and mentor who is accepted the present at Posters on the Hill.

For more information, including the application, please go the Posters on the Hill web site, or download instructions for applying for the New Paltz RSCA POH Travel award.
