Kristy Lee was appointed Interim Dean of the Library on April 2, 2022. She also serves as the Head of Library Technology. She was promoted from Associate Librarian to Librarian in 2021.

In her role as interim dean, Lee is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the library. She works with faculty, staff and students to build connections across the University by integrating library resources and services with academic departments; supporting students and faculty in collaborative research projects and scholarship; working closely with staff to improve library services; and continuing integration and use of information technology.

Lee joined SUNY New Paltz in 2010 as a tenure-track librarian specializing in library automation systems administration, and has been responsible for optimizing the implementation and use of technologies designed to support library operations and services. Beyond roles as supervisor, trainer and mentor, she serves as department liaison to the Department of Computer Science, the Division of Engineering Programs, and the Disability Resource Center.

Lee holds a Bachelor of Science in pure science from Aberdeen University (Scotland) and earned a Master of Library Science from Robert Gordon University (Scotland) and a Master of Science in information design and technology from SUNY Polytechnic Institute.

From 2017 to 2019, Lee was appointed as Project Manager by the SUNY Office of Library and Information Services in conjunction with the SUNY Libraries Consortium, and successfully completed the migration of a unified integrated library service platform across all 64 SUNY campuses. She is an active participant in campus service, and also serves as a contributing member and leader in library professional committees and technology groups.
