“I was most affected by my experience at the Astor Home for Children, which made me decide to become a special needs teacher. Through this experience, I learned that the best way to really help kids is to teach them. I earned my M.S. Ed. in Special Education in 1999 and moved to the Los Angeles area. I have been employed with the Los Angeles Unified School District since 2001 and I have had the good fortune of being at the same school with the same K-2 special needs classroom for over 20 years. I am so grateful to everyone who helped me in my life journey!
