Orientation Leaders/Peer Mentors
Orientation Leaders (OLs)/Peer Mentors are a group of student leaders who have the primary responsibility of helping first-year and transfer students make a smooth transition into SUNY New Paltz by serving as resources and role models for the newest members of our SUNY New Paltz community. Orientation Leaders assist with new student orientation and family orientation, and continue their commitment to serve first-year and transfer students by participating in a variety of events throughout the academic year.
Requirements/Prerequisites: Must be a full-time undergraduate student with a minimum 2.75 GPA, have an active Co-Curricular Transcript, not planning to take any summer courses, have completed one full semester at SUNY New Paltz at time of application, and be in good disciplincary standing. You must attend a GI meeting in order to apply.
Compensation: $2200 for the summer and $300 per semester for Peer Mentor
Application Timeline: February: General Interest Meetings and Application Available. March: Application and references due, first round interviews. April: Group process day and final interviews/decision
