Interdisciplinary Programs

Welcome

The Value of Interdisciplinary Programs

Cross Boundaries. Take courses from across the university to study topics ranging from environmental sustainability to gender identity, disaster response to the possibilities and challenges of new technologies, the ancient world to globalization.

Invent and Create. Draw on a wide range of faculty expertise in order to better understand our rapidly shifting world. Develop unique methods that cut across traditional fields of study to arrive at innovative processes and insights.

Inform and Transform. Asian Studies, Latin American and Caribbean Studies, and International Relations have a long tradition of helping students understand our interconnected world. Black Studies, Native American Studies, and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies continue to generate new scholarly approaches decades after their emergence from the movements of the 1960s and 1970s.  New programs in Biochemistry, Deaf Studies, Digital Design and Fabrication, Disaster Studies, Evolutionary Studies, and Film and Video Studies create opportunities for collaboration at the cutting edge.
